Pretty In Pink

That's the name of this Tip Toe polish. I'm not really sure where I got it from. I found it in my house and took it with me to college. I'm not a huge fan of pink, but I like how this particular one looks with my complexion.

And it looks even fancier when I hold a candle like this...

I'm gonna try to take better pictures with my friend's camera soon. But for now my iPhone will do. And Instagram filters help slightly. :)

Leave me comments so I don't get lonely.

Erin Rogue

This color went perfect with Erin's outfit. I had to paint her nails and take pictures with her jewelry. It was just meant to be haha. I did a classic rogue nail and made it this glitter that I absolutely adore. It came out pretty nice. She kept saying she didn't like her fingernails, but I thought they were perfectly cute. :)

I hope she wears something similar tomorrow.

Erin was a lovely person to paint nails with.

Tribal

So I've been wanting to try a sort of tribal polish for a while now. Mariama, my lovely hand model, was gracious enough to let me try on her haha. I must say, since I've started this blog more and more people trust me with their hands. o___o

Anyway, they came out pretty nice and were really simple to do. You just have to have a lot of patience. :]

I love how they came out and I think they look great with Mariama's outfit. I'm happy she's happy :D

If you want to learn more about these nails leave a comment or something so I have somebody to talk to. The internet can be a horribly lonely place. *le cry*

Wrapped Up

Yayyy! Elva loved her nails so much yesterday she took the color off and let me do them again tonight. :D

I like to choose something for my paintees that suits them. I'm crazy, so I do crazy things on my nails. Elva, on the other hand, is a little trickier because she's a lot more reserved. But that doesn't mean we can't be creative and fun! :)

I call it "Wrapped Up" because it kind of reminded me of a present. And we were also wrapped up in Florence and the Machine at the time. That really has nothing to do with the name at all but I thought it would sound cool saying it did. :]

She looks so happy D'OHHHHHHH!

I can't figure out how to get to the bottom of these pictures so I'm just gonna sign off here in the middle of my post. :)

Artsy Antics?

So this was my most fun hand model. I had to take a picture of her in her entirety because she had way too much fun modeling for me. Her name is Shelley and she's lovely. :)

Doesn't she look so happy?! <3

I painted her nails an eggshell white called Himalaya and then used make up brushes to sponge on different colors. After that I used my trusty thin black polish to draw some lines and dots and once again make it look artsy?

I think these nails were perfect for Shelley and I had so much fun painting them. I tried like a billion different things with the thumbs until I finally stumbled upon something super simple, but super cute at the same time. Shelley was almost as impatient as I am waiting for them to dry haha.

Anyway, if you liked this look leave a comment and let me know what you think. :)

Post Church Release

After a lovely service attended with my co-worker and good friend Jermaine, I was really feeling inspired. So Elva and I laid on my floor-bed, watched The Lorax, and I just started experimenting on my nails. I was kind of discouraged last night with how difficult I found it to do the whole fancy lines and dots thing that Salons do, so I decided to practice on myself.

I re-vamped the two ring fingers that I had worked on last night and realized how much more I could've done with them. It wasn't hard at all. It was a bit difficult to keep a steady hand while painting my right hand, but that's my only complaint. I'm happy with the results and so excited to try something like this on my next victim. Lol.

Oh, and The Lorax btw was absolutely awesome. My friend Yasmeen from Castle-Fashion.blogspot.com would absolutely love it. [Aside from maybe the cheesy musical aspect of it] I however am a huge cornball and was enthralled by even the musical numbers. The animation was awesome. And what a coincidence when I went onto Instagram post-movie and saw somebody do these nails. [I am itching to get the colors to try them out!]

The Lorax was absolutely my favorite Dr. Suess book when I was little. There was a point in my life where I could recite it. I used to read it all the time up to about the 5th grade and I'm surprised I didn't get more into the saving the planet business as a result. It's never too late to start I guess. I'm gonna go recycle something now. I'm feeling I have a responsibility to do so.

Leave your love for me and thanks for reading. :]

Sort Of Like A Salon?

So like I was trying to do what the cute little old ladies in the nail salons do where they just draw a bunch of lines and dots and make it look like some grandiosely thought out masterpiece, and then I realized it's way harder than it looks. But I think for a first time it came out pretty cute.

Let me know what you think! I'm eager for feedback. o______o

Miss Piff

This is my friend Elva. We ate lots of pizza, listened to Adele's album twice, painted nails, and talked about boys all night. The ultimate slumber party. We didn't want to go too crazy on them because we have church in the morning so we decided to stay classy with a simple french. Of course we couldn't keep it at just that though.

The color I used on her is OPI's Champagne Toast. It was my favorite color for a while and one of the only OPI's that I haven't lost. So I'm proud of that haha. I called the look Miss Piff because that happens to be my nickname for Elva. Elva, my lovely hand model, was afraid to let me do her nails because she's "very particular" about how she likes them. But I am proud to say that she was extremely pleased with the results. :)

USA Forever

This is my Olympics themed nails. They're pretty much self explanatory. I used a make up sponge to blend the colors and then a thin white nail polish brush to make dots and lines. It really was really simple even if it looks like it's not.

I should've done the dots neater, but I'm a sloppy bitch sometimes. It's easier to be beautiful and patient on other people's nails. That being said... LET ME PAINT YOUR NAILS!!! :]

Glamoured Love

Glamoured as in True Blood. Love as in I love the way this glitter polish looks with deep purple Essie polish. I don't know why this reminded me of True Blood, but if you're familiar with the show, I thought of Jessica in Fangtasia.

Yeah but anyway my hand model here is Josephine. She was brave enough to let me experiment on here and this is what I came up with.

I can't tell you what the purple is because it's so old that the name of it has disappeared. But the the glitter is called Mermaid Lagoon which I loveeeeee <3

Touched By Your Words

This look is inspired by something I saw on Instagram. I thought it was super cute and just wanted to try it out to see if it was as easy as google made it sound.

Step 1: Paint your nails with either a white or off-white color. This is Himilaya by B.S.N.

Step 2: Let nails dry completely before dipping them in rubbing alcohol.

Step 3: Immediately after dipping nails in rubbing alcohol place newspaper strip on top of nail. Try not to move it in order to avoid smudging the letters.

Step 4: Dab a little more rubbing alcohol on top of the paper that is still on your nails so that it's pretty wet and the color can take to your nails.

Step 5: Gently remove strips of news paper.

Step 6: Paint over nails with top coat.

And it's that easy! It's a really cool look and even if you were doing a sloppy job and watching Precious like I was, it still looks pretty cool. I wasn't exactly going for an older library book kind of look but since that's what ended up happening and it looks pretty cool regardless, we'll go with that. Try it out and let me know how it came out!

Hello World!

Yeah so my name is Natalie and this is my blog. Clearly. Since I'm convinced that I am interesting enough to capture the world's attention, I've decided to create a space for myself in this lovely internet. I've developed a new hobby: painting my nails. I'm trying to invest enough time into it to become good. So I want feedback and likes and all kinds of thought provoking questions in order to evolve in my craft and learn new and exciting things. You'll notice that I'm crazy, I have the attention span of an ant, and I'm slightly inconsistant. HOWEVER, it's okay because if you give me a chance, I know you'll love me. So here goes nothing...
